At Taproot we're passionate about nurturing new teachers, a 200-hour immersion in the whole of yoga, and a 300-hour path beyond it. Even if you never teach a class, this training will remake your practice.

The 200-hour immersion
A well-rounded exploration of all of yoga.
Our beginner-level training explores every facet of the practice, cosmology, history, philosophy, breathing, postures, meditation, and relaxation, through all eight limbs of yoga, in a safe space for personal growth and transformation.
The immersion draws on two lineages that complement each other beautifully. From Tirumalai Krishnamacharya and his son TKV Desikachar comes the therapeutic approach known as viniyoga; from Swami Kripalvananda comes Kripalu yoga, a trauma-sensitive, heart-centered practice rooted in compassion, where breath and innate wisdom guide the way.
Both traditions agree on one thing: the practice should be tailored to the student's age, condition, culture, emotional state, and constitution, the practice fits the person, never the other way around.
You'll study
- Anatomy & physiology as it applies to yoga, functional movement, releasing chronic tension
- Teaching with compassion, safety, and longevity, not idealized poses
- Lifestyle, diet, breath, and self-care through the lens of Ayurveda
- Meditation, relaxation, and the philosophy behind the postures
- Plenty of supported practice teaching
Good to know
Yoga Alliance certified, taught in our Chardon studio. Many students take the training purely to deepen their own practice, teaching is welcome, never required.
